India delivered 38,000 metric tonnes (MT) of petroleum to Sri Lanka, including 20,000 MT of diesel and 18,000 MT of petrol, the Indian High Commission in Colombo said in a statement on Saturday (March 28, 2026). The development comes after a phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on March 24, 2026, with a focus on the war in West Asia, disruption in global supply chains, and energy cooperation between New Delhi and Colombo.
LPG Gas Shortage in India News: Arunachal opens biogas plant to switch from LPG. As concerns over LPG supply and rising costs continue to affect households, the Arunachal Pradesh govt has taken a significant step towards energy self-reliance by inaugurating a biogas plant at the Central Cattle Breeding Farm (CCBF) in Nirjuli near Itanagar. Citizens have been asked to apply for piped gas, said food and civil supplies minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Saturday. With the ongoing US-Iran war, there should be an increased focus on switching to piped natural gas (PNG) which is cheaper and should be used more.
