Why did you start Mayday.com ?
It was a usual weekday afternoon and we were going on about a discussion on the climate crisis, and our deep-seated frustrations. For each of us, we had explored conservation, activism, and informed discussions about the environment individually, but we needed to do something that was pressing. It was almost synonymous with a siren buzzing during a distress signal – a need for a call to action. Something that we all loved was disappearing into a book. The act of reading a book is like getting a hug on a rainy day from someone you love. It is amazing how words written on a piece of paper can transcend the laws of time and space, taking you to places you couldn’t even fathom. It was only a matter of time before we took this long-standing romance and created something that would not only bring us but the world some happiness!
The Mayday is a second-hand book store, allowing you to indulge in laughter, love, mystery, fantasy, and adventure, at cheaper prices and the internal satisfaction of actively taking steps to reduce your environmental impact. So fellow bibliophiles, why shop when you can adopt?
Who was your inspiration ?
We seek inspiration from our school, The Shri Ram School, Aravali, our parents and our friends who are dong their bit to make the planet a better place.
